Social Media Volunteer - to support, improve and develop Freshwinds’s web presence through a variety of social media accounts.
Volunteer Audio Typist - to transcribe audio recordings of interviews regarding the Evolutions of Health project.
Legal and Compliance Volunteer - to create resource booklets on the Care Act and the Equality Act for front-line voluntary sector workers.
Community Heritage Advocate - to engage with communities in recording interviews covering health and wellbeing and to research the change in Birmingham health services since the founding of the NHS.
Roles within the IT department can consist of supporting Freshwinds internally or helping to provide funding for Freshwinds valuable work through the development of social enterprise FreshwindsIT. For more information on FreshwindsIT, look in our social enterprises section.
Web Developer - Supporting the development of a variety of websites built on the WordPress platform with customized plug-ins and code modules where appropriate.
IT Support - to support other staff and volunteers with IT software and equipment. Strong experience of Microsoft Windows and Office Applications is essential. IT Support volunteers need to be friendly and enthusiastic with a passion for Information Technology and helping others to get the most out of it.
Database Developer - Developing our in-house and external Access/.NET/SQL Server databases, creating database solutions and supporting their development.
Support Services volunteering opportunities covers roles within a number of our projects including Supporting People, FInDA Employment and Training and FInDA Advice and Welfare.
Advice and Welfare Administrator - We are looking for friendly, approachable and professional individuals to support our FInDA Advice and Welfare team with administrative tasks and activities.
Volunteer BSL - English Interpreter – We are looking for individuals skilled in British Sign Language (and potentially other languages) to interpret and provide support for individuals requiring debt, welfare and benefits advice and information.
Advice & Welfare Assistant – We are looking for friendly, approachable and professional individuals to assist our FInDA Advice and Welfare team, and manage a small number of debt related cases.
Volunteer Job Club Advisor – We are looking for friendly, approachable and professional individuals to support clients on a one-to-one basis with CV writing, job searches, completing applications and with interview techniques. Advisors may need to support those who are not confident on computer with skills such as emailing for jobs. Duties include keeping paper files and database entries up to date and completing assessment paperwork and diaries with clients.
Volunteer Researcher - To collate, organise and cultivate a timeline of major events in health history in both Birmingham and across the UK.
Voluntary Complementary Therapists - Freshwinds Integrated Medicine Department are looking for qualified (diploma level or equivalent) complementary therapists to provide complementary therapies for people with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses and, where appropriate and depending on availability, to their carers. In particular we have a need for massage, aromatherapy, reflexology therapists, but any complementary therapists who are willing to give their time are welcomed. Initially you will only be able to work with adult clients. Later, you may also be given the opportunity to work with child clients. Therapies are provided using an Integrated Medicine model of care, which is a synergistic and harmonious blend of complementary and conventional medicine (including combining different complementary therapies together) within a safe environment.
